Treat Social Like an Editorial Calendar — Not a Content Mill
By Team M Media · M Media Corp

We have stopped writing weekly social plans for our retainer clients. We write quarterly issues — twelve weeks of grid, planned to read as a single body of work, with three cover stories, a recurring column, and a back-of-book.
The brands that adopt this stop competing for short-form attention and start cultivating long-form return. Their save rates triple. Their followers behave like subscribers. And they never again find themselves at 4pm on a Tuesday asking the intern what to post.
If you are still writing a social plan inside a spreadsheet of dates and hashtags, you are running a content mill. If you are writing it inside a Pages document with sections and headlines, you are running a publication. Only one of those things appreciates.
