How to Pitch a Style Editor (And Why Most People Do It Wrong)
By Team M Media · M Media Corp

Style editors receive between 200 and 800 pitches a week. Roughly nine in ten are read on a phone, scrolling, in under three seconds. Your pitch lives or dies in the subject line and the first eleven words of the email.
The strongest subject lines name a contradiction ("the surgeon who only operates in candlelight"), reference a fixed editorial slot ("for Issue 27 — front of book?"), or trade an asset ("first-look images attached — exclusive 48hr").
In the body: lead with the photograph (one image, embedded, hero crop). Then the spine. Then the credit list. Save the founder bio and product details for the bottom — they are reference material, not narrative.
